1. For your invites, get some cardboard and cut out some face masks! Make sure to state that dressing up is essential.

2. Men and the ladies should aim to dress up as flamboyantly as possible! You could have an award for the best costume if you wish later on in the night!

3. All guests have to be wearing face masks. Venetian face masks are the most traditional. You can if you choose have a public unveiling at midnight!

4. Here’s an idea your guests will love. Consider hiring a professional photographer and place him at the entrance where he can take photos of your guests as they enter. This should be done in front of a glamorous backdrop.

5. Get in some spare masks just in case anybody fails to turn up in one!

6. Place lots of candles around the room and dim the lights. Try and create aura of intrigue.

7. If you have a large budget, or the company is paying for the party, consider hiring a string quartet. Otherwise playing classical music will be sufficient.

8. A Masquerade theme party is a fine occasion, your food should reflect this. Go for Venetian food or if you have a limited budget, finger foods will be fine.

9. For drinks, you should have fine wine or champagne in your best crystal glasses.
